"Jimmy Hendrix of the cello", Grand Prize Winner of the 17th Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition cellist Ruslan Biryukov is the founder of the Glendale Philharmonic orchestra, Los Angeles Cello Quartet and Artistic director of the Positive Motions Concert Series in Los Angeles. He was the only cellist ever invited to perform for 10 consecutive years solo recitals at the Sundays Live Concert Series in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the longest running live radio broadcast concert series in US, as well as the only Russian cellist invited to solo during the inaugural season of the Reneé and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Orange County.

Known for his "superb artistry, passion and individuality", he collaborated with Midori, Mstislav Rostropovich and Seiji Ozawa in venues such as the Los Angeles Disney Hall and the Big Hall of Moscow Conservatory in over twenty countries in the former USSR, Europe and the United States. His creative artistic ideas are based upon traditions learned from legendary artists Kirill Rodin, Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniil Shafran, Natalia Gutman, Janos Starker, Steven Isserlis and Eleonore Schoenfeld.

A master teacher extraordinaire, Mr. Biryukov has taught at the Ippolitov-Ivanov State Institute of Music in Moscow, Music Academy in Croatia, California Institute of Music, festivals in Europe, Russia and the United States. His students were awarded over 200 prizes on various music competitions worldwide.
Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, RusLan is a graduate of Baku Music Academy, Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, and USC Thornton School of Music. In 2003 Mr. Biryukov was awarded permanent residency from the U.S. government as an "Extraordinary Ability Artist."

Dynamic soloists Ruslan Biryukov and Anne Suda join forces to present Cellisimo duo, an experience in dual virtuosity. Passionate about sharing the warm vocal quality heard exclusively from cellos performing together, Ruslan and Anne found artistic connection while performing together in Los Angeles Cello Quartet. With their respective Russian and American backgrounds, Ruslan and Anne represent two countries with rich musical heritages.

The Los Angeles Cello Quartet is Ruslan Biryukov, Anne Suda, Efrain J. Del Pilar and Bryant Gozali. Initiated by Ruslan Biryukov, the Los Angeles Cello Quartet was first introduced at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Fundraiser in Palos Verdes in May 2010. Music making by four charismatic cellists – soloists immediately attracted attention of the public and the quartet was instantly placed into a category of the leading chamber music groups. “The Los Angeles Cello Quartet was awesome.
